dots 1.0.1

Dots 1.0.1 is the first generative work I made. It was created in 2021, renders in a web browser, fills up the available screen space, is animated, and generates a new variation on each click (try it here above).

This work is made of Javascript code that generates an SVG, rendered in the DOM of the web page.

The influence of Yayoi Kusama's polka dots is quite obvious. What I wanted to contemplate through this work was the manifestation of life through minimal abstract forms, its diversity, and the harmony of interplay, the whole interacting with individualities.

When I began diving into generative art in 2021, the artists I was following at that time were all starting to mint their work as NFTs on hicetnunc.

As a first experiment with NFTs, I minted one output of this svg generator on hicetnunc in May 2021. It is a simple svg and does not regenerate on click.

I then made an animated version of the pattern for this dots and also minted it as an svg on hicetnunc in May 2021.

Eventually, one year later in June 2022, I decided to mint the generator itself on Teia.
